Does the Activating Strategy engage students by activating their prior knowledge of the subject? Does it focus student learning on the Essential Question?

 

 

Do the Cognitive Teaching Strategies focus on teaching the Essential Question?

 

 

Do the Cognitive Teaching Strategies utilize a graphic organizer or other method that assists students in organizing and comprehending their new knowledge?

 

 

Does the Summarizing Activity reinforce student learning and solidify new knowledge?

 

 

Does the Summarizing Activity allow the teacher to determine whether or not students have gained the knowledge necessary to answer the Essential Question?

 

 

Could another teacher print out this lesson and teach it without having questions as to the purpose or procedures of the lesson?

 

 

Are necessary resources noted and made available to other teachers who might use this lesson?

 

 

If you answered NO to any of the above questions then your lesson should be edited before notification is sent to the ACT administrator that the lesson is complete.  If lesson plan publication is an exit requirement for a technology workshop, then all of the above criteria must be satisfied before the lesson is published and renewal credit is awarded.
