Introduction:

Have you ever wanted to become an astronaut and travel in space? As you begin your training as a junior crew member, learn interesting facts about an astronaut and how to become one. You will take a virtual tour in a mission control and flight deck room.

 

The Task:

You will complete a training worksheet about astronauts and space travel. You are to complete a worksheet and take a virtual tour in a mission control and flight deck room in order to receive a training certificate from the Junior Space Cadet Academy.

 

The Process:

At the computer:

Read all directions before you click.

Click on Resources. View and print the Jr. Astronaut Worksheet.

  1. Click on Webster Dictionary to answer first question.
  2. Click in "Collegiate Dictionary" box.
  3. Type the word astronaut in box.
  4. Click in "look it up" box.
  5. Write your answer on the answer sheet.
  6. Click on back button to return to Jr. Astronaut worksheet.
  7. Click on Starchild: Astronauts, to answer remaining questions on worksheet.
  8. Turn in completed worksheet to the teacher.
  9. Click on Space Camp to find out how young people can train to become junior astronauts.

After completing the Jr. Astronaut, you will have learned what an astronaut is, what the different crew members are and how to begin preparing for a career as an astronaut.
