Introduction:
Owls are often called predators of the
night. They are very important to nature's food chain. You are going to learn
about the Snowy Owl that lives in the Arctic.

The Task:
With your partner,
- Read to find out about the Snowy Owl.
- Use information to complete worksheet. Make
sure you answer in complete sentences.
- Using a graphic organizer, you will compare
and contrast a Snowy Owl's digestive system to the human digestive system.
- Make a Snowy Owl from the materials
given. In your picture, show how a Snowy Owl uses camouflage in its
habitat.
The Process:
At the computer:
Read all directions before you click.
In the classroom:
- Read printed information about Snowy
Owl.
- Complete worksheet with partner.
- Complete graphic organizer with partner.
- Make your own Snowy Owl using owl pattern,
feathers, craft stick, elbow macaroni, small baking cups, and jewelry.
- Give your Snowy Owl a habitat and show how
it uses camouflage in its habitat.

Evaluation:
Students will be evaluated by correctly answering
the Owl worksheet and graphic organizer.

Conclusion:
After doing this WebQuest, you will have
learned interesting facts about the Snowy Owl and how it digests its prey. You
will also be able to tell how an owl's digestive system differs from the human
digestive system.
