Travel Itinerary and Budget
You have been given $2000 (US). Plan a trip to one of the
following countries: England, Scotland, or Ireland.
- Determine on what day of the week you will leave on your
trip, how many days you will visit, and on what day you will return.
- Name 3-5 places or attractions you would like to visit
while on your trip.
- List your expenses for each day. Include the amount you
plan to spend for meals, lodging, transportation* (such as taxis, trains,
buses, or rental cars), and recreation* (such as admission fees to museums
or other attractions, as well as any souvenirs you plan to buy).
- List the cost of your round trip airline ticket.
- Add all of your expenses for a grand total cost of your
trip.
- Organize this information in a chart or other written
format.
*The web sites to which students are referred do not contain specific
information on admission fees, bus and taxi fares, or souvenir costs. Students
should set aside money in their travel budget to cover these expenses based
on personal preferences such as: "I plan to hike everywhere I go."
vs. "I will be riding in taxis each day." or "I will not
purchase any souvenirs." vs. "I will buy souvenirs for my family."
